Executive Summary
NewSpace Institute is a self-funded consortium of NewSpace industry owners, contractors and design firms that collaborate with academia to fund research, develop best practices, and support education in capital projects. NSI is a nonprofit research and education entity associated with university engineering and/or construction management schools.
Academic Programs
Space industry growth has increased the demand for professionals in aerospace and rocket facility design and construction. Universities can create specialized degree programs that blend aerospace engineering, civil/structural engineering, project management, and operations management.
These academic programs focus on the planning, design, construction and operation of both ground and ocean-based aerospace facility infrastructure.
The development of these aerospace facilities requires unique academic degree program to create the required human resource talent pipeline. The NewSpace program fundamentally differs from the traditional aircraft or space vehicle and payload design programs that currently exist in universities.
